Mikel Arteta confident of new Arsenal deal

Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta has revealed that he is confident of signing a contract extension at the end of the season. The 33-year-old midfielder, who is currently out of action with an ankle injury, is due to be a free agent in the summer. With the Spaniard expected to pen a 12-month extension in the coming months, Arteta is eager to get back to fitness and commit his future to the club. "My only aim is to get back fit and try to perform on the pitch," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
