Ex-Arsenal skipper's red card ends hope of breaking Thierry Henry record

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas got himself stupidly sent-off against West Bromwich Albion on Monday, which ended his hopes of breaking Thierry Henry's assist record this season, the Metro reports. The Spaniard currently stands at 18 assists and with Henry's 10-year-record of 20 assists in one Premier League season still remaining, one has to wonder if it will ever be beaten. Fabregas recorded 15 assists before January and, at that point, it seemed inevitable that he would overtake ‘The King'; but his annual dip in form during the second part of the season became evident once again.
