Match report: Everton 1-3 Arsenal Women

WHAT HAPPENED  We ended 2019 in style on Sunday with an impressive 3-1 win over Everton at The Pure Stadium. Vivianne Miedema was at her very best, scoring twice to maintain our place at the top of the Women’s Super League table, but the afternoon was unfortunately overshadowed by Beth Mead leaving the field on a stretcher. As ever, we made a fast start and wasted no time in stamping our authority on the game, with Miedema climbing high inside the area to head the ball past Tinja-Riikka Korpela and into the top corner.
