Lyon chief pours cold water on Houssem Aouar to Arsenal when addressing finances

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has hinted that Arsenal may not be able to afford Houssem Aouar amid the coronavirus crisis. The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Aouar in recent weeks, with Mikel Arteta reportedly identifying him as a top target ahead of the transfer deadline on October 5. Talks between the two clubs are said to be ongoing, although Lyon’s £54million asking price has so far proved a stumbling block. Having seemingly decided against stumping up £45million to prise Thomas Partey away from Atletico Madrid, Arsenal are likely to be priced out of a move for Aouar.
