Arsenal are ready to splash the cash to improve their squad after missing out on European football for the first time since 1996. It was a difficult first full season for Mikel Arteta who was unable to build on his FA Cup final success of 2020. A win over Liverpool in the Community Shield on penalties got the Gunners off to a fantastic start, but by Christmas they had only managed four Premier League wins and sat in the lowly position of 15th.
