Ian Wright left ITV coverage after being told mum died 30 seconds before going on air

Ian Wright was forced to leave ITV coverage of the FA Cup clash between Rochdale and Plymouth at the weekend after learning of the tragic passing of his mother just seconds before going back on air. The fan favourite was on his usual fine form before kick-off, entertaining not only viewers watching at home, but also interacting with those in attendance at the match. However, it was announced at half-time that Wright had to leave the Crown Oil Arena to go and be with his family after he had been told of the loss of a loved one.
