Arsenal and Man United target rejects Serie A contract extension

Arsenal and Manchester United target Gonzalo Higuain has rejected a contract extension from Napoli, according to reports from the Daily Star. The 27-year-old emerged as a possible striking candidate for the Premier League duo since the close of the previous campaign. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been a long-time admirer of the striker while United manager Louis van Gaal is keen to reinforce his front line following the departure of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie. He was offered a one year extension on his deal which will expire in 2018, but his agent and brother, Nicolas Higuain, revealed that they turned it down as it was no different from the one he is currently on.
