Arsenal 'can't afford make mistakes in transfer market'

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has spoken out about the club's lack of transfer activity, claiming they don't have the finances to compete with some clubs in the window. The Gunners have added Switzerland international Granit Xhaka to their ranks this summer, but have missed out on Jamie Vardy, who chose to stay at Leicester City, and Gonzalo Higuain, who has joined Juventus. The Telegraph are also reporting that the Gunners have failed with bids to sign Alexandre Lacazette to the Emirates, after the French forward scored 21 Ligue 1 goals last season, bringing his league tally to a total of 48 goals in two seasons.
