Giroud is a target for Everton

Koeman interested in signing Giroud

Everton manager Ronald Koeman is set to bid £40 million for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in the coming January transfer window, according to the Mirror. The Merseyside club tried to sign the Frenchman this summer but failed to complete the deal.

Giroud is reportedly interested in the move due to lack of game time with new signing Alexandre Lacazette and Danny Welbeck currently ahead in the pecking order. The competition for places is pretty high in the national team as well and the 30-year old will need to play more regularly to be selected in the World Cup squad next year.

On the other hand, Everton have failed to replace Romelu Lukaku properly and are missing a presence up top. Giroud provides exactly that, giving the move enough legs to happen in January. It remains to be seen whether Wenger will be willing to sanction a move though.

Arsenal planning to sell Ozil to Inter Milan

Arsenal do not want to let Ozil join a direct rival

The Express mentions that Arsenal do not want to sell Mesut Ozil, who is in the final year of his contract, to rivals with Jose Mourinho willing to bring the German to Manchester United. The pair have previously worked together at Real Madrid and Mourinho would love to add a genuine attacking talent for free next summer.

However, as per reports, Arsenal do not want to let Ozil leave to any team in England and are negotiating a deal to send him in a swap deal to Inter Milan in January. The Serie A side are highly interested in signing Ozil and are willing to include Joao Mario in the deal.

Joao Mario won the Euro 2016 with Portugal and is a reported target of Arsene Wenger in the past. Thus, the deal could see Arsenal get a replacement for Ozil while preventing any direct rival from strengthening at the Gunners' expense.

Tielemans preferred Monaco to Arsenal

Manchester United v RSC Anderlecht - UEFA Europa League Quarter Final: Second Leg
Tielemans felt Monaco was better for his development

Until a few years back, Arsenal was considered an ideal destination for youngsters to progress. However, things are changing in recent years as seen in the case of Kylian Mbappe and most recently, Youri Tielemans. The Belgian Player of the Year for 2016/17 preferred joining AS Monaco over Arsene Wenger's side this summer and he explained the decision by saying:

“I knew not much was going to change with Arsenal’s squad. Their management wanted to keep the same group of players together in order to finish high in the Premier League."

“I had to be honest with myself and take a look at the midfielders Arsenal have got. They are top-class players. I knew that I would not get many first-team chances with them, so I didn’t give any more thought to joining them."

“I never said no to any club. But I made it clear where I wanted to go.”

Tielemans started the season well with Monaco and if he continues to develop at this rate, he could still play for Arsenal one day.
