Arsenal are reportedly ready to recall defender Carl Jenkinson from his loan with Birmingham City before the end of the January transfer window.

Jenkinson moved to the West Midlands on a season-long loan, but has not played since dislocating his shoulder half an hour into his Blues debut.

The 25-year-old is fit again, according to the Daily Mail, adding that the Gunners wish to find him an alternative loan move after failing to have any impact with Steve Cotterill's team.

The right-back, who joined Arsene Wenger's side from Charlton for £1m in 2011 and has previously featured for West Ham United on loan.

Jenkinson has also played in the Premier League and has one England appearance to his name.
