Report: Thierry Henry contacted over vacant Arsenal job

Thierry Henry will reportedly hold talks with Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis next week over succeeding Arsene Wenger as the club's next manager.

Arsenal chiefs have reportedly arranged to hold talks with club legend Thierry Henry to discuss the vacant managerial vacancy.

The Gunners are understood to be hoping to announce Arsene Wenger's successor within the next fortnight, giving the new man enough time to shape the squad ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

Overnight reports suggest that Mikel Arteta is now the leading candidate to take over at the Emirates Stadium, but another former player in Henry is also supposedly under consideration.

According to The Sun, chief executive Ivan Gazidis has summoned the Frenchman for talks at some point next week regarding a possible return to North London.

Henry, who is currently working as Roberto Martinez's assistant with the Belgium national team, has previously admitted that it would be a "dream" to manage Arsenal.
