West Ham United confident of signing free agent Jack Wilshere?

West Ham United are reportedly the favourites to sign Arsenal's out-of-contract midfielder Jack Wilshere as they are willing to pay him £130,000 a week.

West Ham United are reportedly increasingly confident that they can complete the signing of out-of-contract Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The 26-year-old is said to have been informed in face-to-face talks with new boss Unai Emery on Monday that the club's £100,000-a-week contract renewal will not be improved.

That means a 20% pay cut for the England international, who hinted on social media last week that he is ready to bring an end to his 17-year stint with the Gunners.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle United and Juventus have all been tipped to make a move but, according to The Sun, West Ham are the frontrunners as they are willing to offer £130,000 a week.

New Irons boss Manuel Pellegrini is said to be a big admirer of Wilshere and intends to build his team around him, and United have been informed that the player would prefer to stay in the capital.
