Project Restart: Merseyside derby set to take place on Sunday, June 21

The Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool, which could see Liverpool crowned champions, is reportedly pencilled in for 7pm on Sunday, June 21.

The Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool will reportedly be held at 7pm on Sunday, June 21.

The match, which could see Liverpool crowned champions if Manchester City are beaten before Jurgen Klopp's side play, headlines the first full gameweek of Premier League action after the coronavirus outbreak.

Top-flight clubs today met to discuss more details regarding 'Project Restart', and The Times reports that they were handed a list of provisional kickoff times.

Confirmation of those times and the broadcast details are expected within the next 24 hours, but the derby has reportedly been pencilled in for a primetime Sunday slot on Sky's free-to-air channel.

Liverpool city council's Safety Advisory Group (SAG) will now hold further talks over the fixture and whether it will be allowed to take place at Goodison Park or should be held at a neutral venue.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Arsenal is set to be the first Saturday 3pm kickoff broadcast after the ban on games in that timeslot being shown on TV was lifted as a result of coronavirus.

The BBC will reportedly air its first live match at 7.45pm on the Saturday, when relegation-threatened Bournemouth will host Crystal Palace.
