Team News: Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech starts against Chelsea

Petr Cech makes his competitive Arsenal debut in today's Community Shield against former employers Chelsea.

Having spent the last 11 years of his career as a Chelsea player, Petr Cech has been handed his competitive Arsenal debut against the West Londoners in this afternoon's Community Shield at Wembley.

The £10m man will feature behind a four-man defence that has seen youngster Hector Bellerin preferred to Mathieu Debuchy at right-back.

Meanwhile, further forward, Theo Walcott has been selected as a lone striker ahead of Olivier Giroud, but there is no Jack Wilshere, who is believed to have picked up a knock.

As for Chelsea, manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that a hamstring complaint has ruled out last season's leading goalscorer Diego Costa, which has handed a starting opportunity up front to Loic Remy.

New signings Radamel Falcao and Asmir Begovic have both been named among the substitutes, along with Brazilian playmaker Oscar.

Arsenal: Cech; Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Cazorla; Ramsey, Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Walcott
Subs: Debuchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Arteta, Giroud, Martinez, Iwobi

Chelsea: Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Matic, Fabregas; Ramires, Willian, Hazard; Remy
Subs: Begovic, Zouma, Mikel, Oscar, Cuadrado, Moses, Falcao
