Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain delighted to extend winning Wembley run

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain admits that he would like to "contribute more goals this season" for Arsenal after scoring the winner in the 2015 Community Shield.

Match-winner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has said that he is hopeful Arsenal's Community Shield victory over Chelsea will help "lay down a marker" for the rest of the season.

The Gunners edged out their London rivals 1-0 at Wembley thanks to the England international's first-half strike.

Having failed to win any of their first three games at the famous venue, FA Cup holders Arsenal have now won on four of their last five visits.

Chamberlain believes that this bodes well heading into the new Premier League campaign, which gets underway in just six days' time.

"It's really nice to come to Wembley and win," he told BBC Sport. "We wanted to keep our good streak here going. We are delighted to win another trophy and for me personally, I'm happy I got the winner.

"I don't actually think I've lost at Wembley. Long may it continue. Today was a big game for us and we wanted to lay down a marker for our manager and our fans. I want to contribute more goals this season, it's a target I've set for myself, and of course I'm happy to have got the goal today."

Oxlade-Chamberlain scored three goals for Arsenal in all competitions last season, while also finding the net on one occasion for England.
