When does the transfer window close?

The 2016 summer transfer window will close at 11pm on Wednesday, August 31, according to the official Premier League website. 

Do European leagues have different dates?

Like the transfer window in England, it is also Deadline Day in Germany, Italy, Spain and France on Wednesday, August 31, according to FIFA.

Will 2016/17 be a record-breaking season for transfer spending?

It looks like it will be. 

Premier League spending in a single season went over £1bn for the first time in 2015/16. Top flight clubs spent £172.65m in the winter window after splashing £870m last summer.

Already this summer Premier League clubs have surpassed the £870m mark and could be well on the way to reaching £1bn by the time the window shuts on August 31, with winter spending still to come.
