WHAT HAPPENED Steve Gatting’s side fell to a disappointing defeat at Everton on Monday, with two late goals from the Toffees cancelling out Marcus McGuane’s brace. We took the lead early on through McGuane, who picked up Aaron Eyoma’s cross on the edge of the area and rifled a shot past Joe Hilton. Emile Smith Rowe soon went close to doubling our lead, when the forward sent a shot narrowly wide. Shortly following the interval, Anton Donkor brought the hosts level when he raced through on goal and beat Ryan Huddart with a low shot.
