Wayne Rooney insists Olivier Giroud should be the first name on the Arsenal team sheet. The Frenchman has had to be content with a bit-part role at The Emirates this season, but has still scored seven goals in all competitions, despite starting most matches on the bench. Giroud was strongly linked with a move to Everton in the summer, and Rooney feels his club’s loss can be the Gunners’ gain – if Arsene Wenger picks him! “The one player for me who has to start [for Arsenal] is Olivier Giroud.
