Rosicky retires from professional football

Tomas Rosicky has announced his retirement from professional football. The Czech playmaker established himself as a firm fans’ favourite during the decade he spent with us between 2006 and 2016. Tomas made 246 appearances and scored 28 goals for us, and helped us to win – and then retain - the FA Cup in 2014 and 2015.   Tomas started and finished his career with Czech side Sparta Prague and, in a statement posted on their website, he said:    “After careful consideration I have realised I am no longer able to fully prepare my body for what the professional football requires.
