Arsenal midfielder signs new long-term contract

Midfielder Mohamed Elneny has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal, the Premier League club have announced. The Egyptian midfielder has started seven Premier League games this season; he started eight Europa League games before the Gunners' failures in the league led to Europe becoming a priority. Elneny joined the club in January 2016 for a reported £7.4m and has played 66 games in all competitions for the Gunners. A statement on the Arsenal website reads: ‘We would like to congratulate Mo on his new contract and look forward to his continued contribution in the coming seasons.'
