Champions League 'cup-tied' rule abolished: What does it mean?

Stewart Robson discusses the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal draw. UEFA announced on Tuesday it had decided to remove the "cup-tied" rule from all European competitions. This means that, for the first time, a player could play for two different clubs in the group stage and the knockout rounds of the Champions League, or the Europa League, in the same season.
