Arsenal are reportedly preparing to launch a bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in the summer. The Gunners have been linked with the Frenchman on several past occasions but, according to Diario Gol, will make a firm offer of 40m (£35m) when the transfer window reopens. Rumours linking Benzema with a move away from Real heightened recently, following reports that captain Sergio Ramos has told club president Florentino Perez to offload the forward. Perez, however, is said to value the France international at around 80m (£70m), which could price Arsenal out of a potential deal.
