Wenger left due to ‘very real threat' of Arsenal sack

Arsene Wenger chose to call time on his 22-year Arsenal tenure due to the ‘very real threat' of being sacked if he stayed. Arsenal announced on Friday that Wenger would leave the club at the end of the current season. The Frenchman signed a two-year contract at the end of the 2016/17 campaign, but Premier League form has not improved and there are concerns over non-attendance at the Emirates Stadium.
