Arsenal didn't get off to the best start in the Premier League as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to champions Manchester City in the opening round of fixtures. New boss Unai Emery couldn't have asked for a tougher start, with Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea up next for the Gunners. After bringing in a number of new faces this summer, Emery elected not to start with their most expensive recruit Lucas Torriera, instead opting for Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and youngster Matteo Guendouzi in midfield.
