Pictures: Arsenal win the league at Anfield in '89

Anfield '89 will forever be remembered as the greatest end to a league season that there has ever been.  In probably the most spine-tingling move in Arsenal's rich history, John Lukic threw the ball out to Lee Dixon, his raking pass found Smith and he in turn found Michael Thomas.  A fortunate bounce left Thomas clear on goal and, as the Liverpool defenders converged on him, the midfielder flicked the ball past Bruce Grobbelaar with almost the final kick of the game. After an 18-year-wait, Arsenal were back at the top of English football.
