When Danny Welbeck left Manchester United to join rivals Arsenal in the summer of 2014, the hope was that the Gunners had landed a versatile forward with a pretty good scoring record at international level – 16 goals in 42 games. The 28-year-old's career at both clubs has been blighted by injuries unfortunately, and just when he seemed to find a bit of rhythm and form under Unai Emery earlier this season, he was struck down with a serious ankle injury.
