Arsenal fined by FIFA and issued warning over future transfers for using clauses

Arsenal have been fined 40,000 Swiss francs by FIFA and warned about their future conduct when it comes to transfers due to their use of clauses. The club was found to have inserted variable sell-on clauses which gave it influence over other clubs, according to a report from the Associated Press. The investigation reviewed concerns over deals which saw striker Chuba Akpom join Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki and Joel Campbell move to Italian club Frosinone Calcio. Arsenal inserted a clause which would have seen the club receive a higher percentage of any future fee for both players if they were sold to a British side.
