Arsenal loan for Philippe Coutinho possible as Barcelona fear no transfer again

Arsenal could still strike a deal to sign Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona. The Catalan giants are keen to offload the Brazilian on a permanent basis this summer. But Barcelona understand that a fee close to their valuation for the £142m flop is unlikely given the financial implications on clubs from the coronavirus pandemic. Coutinho could subsequently spend another season away from the Nou Camp on loan, following his spell with Bayern Munich this term. And that could work in Arsenal’s favour, with Mikel Arteta unable to finance a transfer for the 28-year-old.
