Emi Martinez joins Aston Villa
Emi Martinez has joined Aston Villa in permanent transfer. The Argentinean international goalkeeper, a hugely popular figure around the club, signed for us 10 years ago in August 2010 from home city side Independiente. Emi, 28, started the last 11 matches of the 2019/20 season, performing superbly and continuing this form into this season for our Community Shield penalty shoot-out victory over Liverpool. He was an ever-present on our road to winning the Emirates FA Cup, conceding just three goals in the six matches along the way to lifting the trophy.
