Arsenal strike Runar Alex Runarsson deal with player undergoing two-step medical

Arsenal have secured a £2million deal to sign Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson, according to reports in France. Mikel Arteta is on the hunt for a new backup shot-stopper following Emiliano Martinez’s £20million switch to Aston Villa earlier this week. Martinez, who played a crucial part in the Gunners’ FA Cup triumph last season, decided to move on in search of more frequent first-team football after playing second-fiddle to Bernd Leno at the Emirates. And according to French radio station RMC, Runarsson is the man set to replace him in north London this summer.
