Runar Alex Runarsson poised for swift Arsenal debut with announcement expected

Arsenal should announce the signing of Icelandic goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson, Daily Star Sport understands. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta sold Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa last week and has eyed Dijon stopper Runarsson as his replacement. Arsenal are paying just over £1m for Runarsson and he could make his debut against Leicester City on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup. Runarsson completed his medical in France last week before making the journey to London. Arsenal goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana worked with Runarsson during his time with FC Nordsjaelland from 2015 to 2018.
