Arsenal told terms over Partey transfer as Atletico Madrid snub Torreira swap
Arsenal will not be using Lucas Torreira in a swap deal for Thomas Partey. Although Atletico Madrid have not ruled out a move for the Ghana international before the transfer window closes, they do not believe him to be a similar player to the Uruguayan. The 27-year-old has been a key part of Diego Simeone’s Rojiblancos side over the past four La Liga campaigns, helping them to the final of the Champions League in 2016 and to Europa League glory in 2018. Despite his importance, Atletico will not be able to block a move to Arsenal should they match his release clause - which is believed to be in the region of £45m.
