Guendouzi forced to plea for Arsenal exit after being made Arteta scapegoat

Matteo Guendouzi has reportedly had to beg the Arsenal board to allow his exit after being made a scapegoat by boss Mikel Arteta. Guendouzi has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer, having not played since the Gunners' Premier League defeat to Brighton in June. The French midfielder was involved in an altercation with Brighton's Neal Maupay during the 2-1 reverse, and has been frozen out by manager Mikel Arteta ever since. Arsenal have lost just two games since Guendouzi was dropped, with Arteta's side having beaten Liverpool (twice), Manchester City and Chelsea and lifted the FA Cup and the Community Shield.
