Premier League clubs 'close to losing their nerve' over Super League plans

Two of the six Premier League clubs that have signed up to take part in the breakaway European Super League are said to be losing their nerve over the widely criticised plans. Football fans have been almost unanimous in their horror at the new competition, which could see clubs kicked out of their domestic leagues and players banned from international tournaments. While Gary Neville has been joined by Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Prince William in fearing what could happen to English football, Super League chairman Florentino Perez has stood firm.
