European Super League crumbling as Chelsea, Man City and other clubs 'leave'

The European Super League nightmare looks over before it even got going, with clubs pulling out of the controversial breakaway competition on Tuesday evening with senior club officials under pressure. Chelsea fans took it upon themselves to protest the decision outside Stamford Bridge before tonight's clash with Brighton, which forced a delayed kick-off as Petr Cech tried to calm things down. And as the scenes unfolded in west London, the Blues pulled out of the competition which has attracted so much criticism in recent days - with Manchester City following suit by also ditching the new project as well.
