Arsenal dump Ainsley Maitland-Niles from first-team training after blocking his transfer
Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been dropped from first-team training after Arsenal blocked his move to Everton. The 24-year-old midfielder had been expected to join the Toffees on loan before Tuesday's deadline. But Gunners boss Mikel Arteta reportedly vetoed a deal even though the England international is not part of his plans. Maitland-Niles has not started a Premier League game this season amid competition for places at the Emirates. After his move to Goodison Park broke down, the former Ipswich and West Brom loanee vented his frustration on Instagram.
