International Watch: Tavares scores, assists twice
Nuno Tavares starred in Portugal Under-21s’ comprehensive 11-0 win over Liechtenstein in Caldas de Vizela. Our full-back opened the scoring after just four minutes, having been set up by Fabio Silva. Tavares returned the favour for the Wolves forward just before the break, created Silva’s second - and Portugal’s ninth. Tavares was involved in the hosts’ final goal, too, assisting second-half substitute Francisco Conceicao to complete the scoring with a quarter of an hour to play.
