Arsenal to hand Mikel Arteta new deal as Man City 'eye Pep Guardiola's replacement'

Arsenal are reportedly looking to hand Mikel Arteta a fresh contract at the club in a bid to fend off interest from Manchester City who may see the Spaniard as the ideal replacement for Pep Guardiola. The Gunners wish to wrap up a new two-year deal for the 39-year-old to secure his future at the club, according to the Daily Mail. Arteta - who worked under Guardiola at the Eithad as second-in-command from 2016 to 2019 - currently has a contract that runs until the summer of next year.
