Arsenal ready to beat Barcelona to £22m midfield solution

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to take advantage of Barcelona’s transfer woes to land Lars Bender from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, according to reports from The Metro. The Catalan giants are one of Europe’s biggest side’s, but a transfer ban imposed by FIFA will seriously hinder their business during the next window. Barca are permitted to snap up new additions this summer, but no signings will be allowed to be officially registered for action before January 2016, which will leave any player signed by the Catalans in a state of limbo for six months.
