Vieira appointed New York City boss
Former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Patrick Vieira has been appointed as head coach of Major League Soccer club New York City. Vieira, 39, has signed a three-year contract with New York and takes up his role on 1 January 2016. He leaves his role as head coach of Manchester City's Under-21s, a position which he has held since June 2013. New York City's squad includes ex-Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard and 2006 World Cup winner Andrea Pirlo. More to follow
