Arsenal 3-1 Sunderland – MATCH REPORT

Olivier Giroud scored the winner to atone for his first half own goal as Arsenal returned to winning ways against a spirited Sunderland at the Emirates. Sunderland started the stronger and Fabio Borini could have given them a third minute lead when he was sent clean through, but Petr Cech made a vital stop. But the Black Cats fell behind against the run of play when Mesut Ozil spotted the run of Joel Campbell, who got behind the stranded DeAndre Yedlin to slide the ball under Costel Pantilimon. Sam Allardyce's side drew level just before the break in fortuitous circumstances when Giroud swiped at Yann M’Vila’s dangerous free-kick from the left, sending it straight into his own net....
