Premier League duo in January race to sign departing Arsenal defender

Arsenal star Mathieu Debuchy is being courted by both Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window, according to reports from the Daily Star. Debuchy was signed by the Gunners in the summer of 2014 with the intention of making the France international their long-term right back replacement for Bacary Sagna, but an injury early last season saw him miss most of the campaign. The 30-year-old’s absence allowed youngster Hector a chance at the position, and Debuchy is looking to leave the club after struggling to regain his place.
