Arsenal almost completed deadline day signing of the next Gareth Bale
We failed to make a single deadline day signing this winter, but were apparently close to bringing Fulham's 16-year-old wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon to the club, according to the Mirror. Arsene Wenger was looking to add even more firepower to the academy, and was hoping to bring the left-sided star up to the Premier League. The report claims Fulham were keen on securing Serge Gnabry on loan, but we were unable to complete a deal before the transfer window slammed shut. Sessegnon has been likened to Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, and 'is regarded as one of the best left sided prospects in youth football since Gareth Bale' (via the Mirror).
