Welbeck sends Arsenal into semis
Nacho Monreal gave the Gunners the lead in the 25th minute but United were soon level thanks to Wayne Rooney's header. Welbeck, a United academy graduate deemed surplus to requirements last summer by Louis van Gaal, restored the Gunners' advantage on the hour mark when he latched on to Antonio Valencia's underhit backpass and beat David de Gea. The goal proved to be decisive and United ended the match with 10 men after Angel Di Maria was sent off for tugging referee Michael Oliver's shirt.
