France Defender Reveals Why He Turned Down Arsenal

France international Djibril Sidibe has revealed he turned down a move to Arsenal in the summer as he was not convinced he would get enough playing time at the Emirates. The 24-year-old left Lille for Monaco in July, signing a five-year deal with Leonardo Jardim’s side. However, he has revealed the Gunners made a late bid for his services and while he did turn the Gunners down he is hopeful of moving to the Premier League next year. “I was on the brink [of signing for Monaco] and [Arsenal] gave me a headache by making a bid at the last moment,” he told Le Parisien. “After reflecting on it, I was not certain my playing time would be guaranteed.
