Gabriel gets Brazil call up
New boy Gabriel has been called up to the Brazilian national squad for the first time for their upcoming game against Chile. The two South American sides will meet at the Emirates next week, and the location of the game is likely to have had a bearing on his selection. However, it's a step forward for the former Villarreal player who joined the club in January. He replaces the injured David Luiz who stepped on multiple rakes and let out a juddering sigh each time it happened. Since his arrival he's made four appearances for the club and returned from a hamstring injury to take a place on the bench for the midweek win over Monaco.
