Steven Gerrard reveals Arsenal bid for Luis Suarez was £40m and ONE PENNY

Suarez wanted to leave Liverpool in 2013 and Arsenal attempted to sign him by triggering a clause in his contract. It was always thought Arsenal had offered £40m plus £1 with then Reds manager Brendan Rodgers saying: “There was an offer a few weeks ago of £35m and two weeks later it is now £40m and £1.  “I don't think it is anywhere near the value of what he is worth. “It is two-fold really.
