What's the story?

Halloween is just around the corner and EA Sports appear to be diving head first into the "eerie" festive spirit as is obvious from their latest reveal on the game developers' Twitter handle. The creators of FIFA 18 just released what they're calling "Scream Team" as a homage to the Halloween festivities. This will include new temporary ratings for some top football players. Check it out here:

The "Ultimate Scream Team" includes players such as Mesut Ozil, Karim Benzema and Daniel Sturridge all receiving upgrades with the boosts lasting between October 29th and November 1st.

In case you didn't know...

The temporary FIFA 18 packs for Ultimate Team have been a rage for regular gamers and the Halloween edition will aim to boost sales for the game as well as for in-game FUT packs. Player upgrades look set to continue as EA Sports goes full on this festive season.

The heart of the matter

From the tweet given above, it is imperative to note that only a few players have been included so far. Of the players, Mesut Ozil of Arsenal has been upgraded to a respectable 93 with significant boosts overall. Other players include Karim Benzema of Real Madrid who is now rated 90 along with the likes of Franck Ribery who is 92 and Vincent Kompany at 90. Interestingly, the highest-rated Arsenal player in FIFA 18 is Alexis Sanchez (89), so Ozil has just become the best Arsenal player in the game, albeit temporarily.

The "Scream Team" is set to be available from 29th October to 1st November and presents a unique opportunity for gamers to join the Halloween Havoc with this latest addition to the FIFA 18 arsenal.

What's next?

With just a handful of upgrades so far, gamers should stay tuned and be on the lookout for some more information from EA Sports for news of any more players receiving upgrades soon.

This latest step by the EA Sports office seems like a good way to promote an already trending FIFA 18 and keep the product fresh with regular innovation. Classic EA, yet again.
