Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will reportedly avoid any further punishment from the FA after claiming that Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling "dives well".

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will face no further action over his criticism of Raheem Sterling following his side's 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Wenger was angered by a penalty incident involving Sterling during the match at the Etihad Stadium, with the England winger going to ground under the challenge of Nacho Monreal before Sergio Aguero tucked the resultant spot kick home to make it 2-0.

The Frenchman said after the match that Sterling "dives well" before launching a scathing attack on the "unacceptable" standard of refereeing in the Premier League.

However, PA reports that the Football Association have decided against opening disciplinary proceedings against the Arsenal boss regarding his comments.

The Gunners' eventual defeat left Wenger's side sixth in the Premier League table after 11 games, with a 12-point gap now separating them from leaders City.
