A dreadful start to the season for Karim Benzema is set to get worse with the club deciding to offload him next summer. The Daily Mirror has understood that club president Florentino Perez has run out of patience with Benzema and now intends to replace him with Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi.

Icardi has been in sensational form this season and has already bagged 13 league goals in Serie A. Former AC Milan great Daniele Massaro has today said that he expects Icardi to join Real Madrid in July which has further ignited this rumour. The Argentinian wants a move to Spain in order to win back his place with his national side.

Lionel Messi blocks Mesut Ozil's move to FC Barcelona

Diario Gol has claimed that Lionel Messi has told the Barcelona boardroom to drop their interest in Arsenal's runaway star, Mesut Ozil. The Catalans have been linked with the former Real Madrid star for a free transfer next summer but Messi's opinion may change the club's thinking.

Messi believes that Ozil is past his prime and at 29 years of age, he isn't getting any better. He also knows of Ozil's ineffectiveness against the top Premier League sides and has hence blocked the German playmaker's move to Camp Nou.

Arsenal to make a move for Joao Mario

The Portuguese midfielder has reportedly fallen out of favour at Inter Milan and is looking for a move next summer. Tuttomercatoweb has reported that Inter Milan have put up Mario for sale with Arsenal keen on making a move.

With Mesut Ozil set to depart, the Gunners are on the lookout for a dynamic, attack-minded midfielder as Arsene Wenger believes Joao Mario fits the bill perfectly. Mario joined Inter Milan last January in a £40 million move from Sporting Lisbon.

Sampdoria insist Lucas Torreira is not for sale

The 21-year-old midfielder has been linked with a January move to Everton with the Toffees scouting him extensively this season. But Sampdoria's sporting director Carlo Osti has revealed that Torreira is not for sale in January. The midfielder has scored three Serie A goals so far and has adjusted well to life in the top division after his move last summer from Seria B club, Pescara.

After tasting a chastening defeat in their chase of Marco Silva, Everton are now set to target RasenBallSport Leipzig's sporting director Ralf Rangnick for taking over the reigns at Goodison Park. Everton's owner, Farhad Moshiri, according to the Express, is said to be a big fan of Raangnick and wants him to be the club's long-term manager. Rangnick's last managerial stint ended in 2011 with Schalke 04.

In what is set to be a huge blow for Manchester City, one of Pep Guardiola's prime transfer targets is set to sign an extension with his current club. The Sun reports that Kimmich has already begun talks with Bayern Munich over a new deal with the youngster happy with life in Germany. Guardiola wanted Kimmich at the Etihad and had instructed the owners of getting his man next summer.

Arsene Wenger names his successor at Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has this season and the season after with the Gunners and is set to call it a day after the 2018/19 season. Wenger is entrusted with the job of finding the next Arsenal boss just as Sir Alex Ferguson did at Manchester United. The Daily Star can reveal that Wenger's first choice to succeed him at the Arsenal is Feyenoord boss, Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Van Bronckhorst played under Wenger for three years at Arsenal and has learned his managerial tricks by working under the likes of Wenger, Guus Hiddink, Frank Rijkaard and Dick Advocaat. The 48-year-old is with Feyenoord since 2015 and guided the Rotterdam side to it's first Eredivisie title last season after 18 years.

Alan Pardew favourite to take over the Baggies

Birmingham Mail understands that former Newcastle United and Crystal Palace boss, Alan Pardew is set to take over from Tony Pulis at West Bromwich Albion. The Baggies want to appoint a new manager as quickly as possible to give him enough time to save the club from relegation. Pardew is set for a meeting with the West Brom owners in the next 24 hours.

Le10 Sport has now reported that Paris Saint Germain have contacted Fellaini's representatives over a potential deal after the World Cup. The Parisians are set to offer Fellaini a four-year deal and will also offer him double the wages than what he is currently earning.

Lille suspend Marcelo Bielsa

The Ligue 1 side has officially revealed that the club has temporarily suspended head coach, Marcelo Bielsa. The French media have reported that Bielsa recently went on an unauthorized trip to Chile which has irked the club hierarchy.

Bielsa had reportedly flown to Chile to visit former national team assistant Luis Bonini, who passed away this morning after battling stomach cancer. But with Lille sitting second from the bottom in the league at the moment, Lille decided to take a strict action against one of the game's most highly regarded managers.
